Museum of History of Almaty

The History Museum of Almaty is a major scientific and cultural center. Currently, the museum is located in the building of the former Vernensky orphanage, which was once planned by the famous architect Pavel Gourde, who played a significant role in the history of the city.

The museum presents about 40 thousand exhibits, divided into 11 epochs, but at the same time united by a common semantic line. The idea of the gradual urbanization of the city, the formation of the life and culture of citizens, the formation of the city as a major metropolis with its own victories and success stories runs through all the expositions. The museum is equipped with modern means of communication with visitors: information kiosks in three languages, projections of historical video materials, rare artifacts restored in holograms, sound stage accompaniment.
