A. Kasteev Museum of Art

The A. Kasteev State Museum of Art of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the largest art museum in the country and a leading research and cultural and educational center in the field of fine arts. Currently, the museum is the center of the artistic life of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over the years, its collection has more than 23,000 first-class exhibits-works of masters of Western Europe, Russian, Soviet art, Eastern countries, fine and applied art of Kazakhstan.

The museum building is an example of public architecture of the city of Almaty, and in 1982 the museum was included in the list of historical and cultural monuments of national significance and taken under state protection. The preservation of the collection in the museum is given special careful attention, it is monitored daily by qualified specialists-climatologists.
